The Factbird DUO is a secure device that does not run an operating system, making it very resilient to cyber attacks, but we always recommend to use a non business critical network for connecting our devices.

Firewalls and whitelisting of devices
- A firewall may prevent the Factbird device from getting internet access. If you have a firewall set up on your Wi-Fi network with e.g. MAC filtering enabled, please ensure that the MAC address of the Factbird device you wish to connect is added to the “allowlist” or “whitelist” of your network. The MAC address can be found on the device label (Factbird DUO) or by contacting Factbird Support at [email protected] (Factbird View).
- Once added to the whitelist, the Factbird device can be set up to connect to your Wi-Fi using the steps in the Setup (Factbird DUO) or Setup (Factbird View) .
- More information about whitelisting domains and ports when using your own network can be found in Whitelist domains & Ports.
