SIMATIC CloudConnect 7 is a series of IoT gateways for connecting automation devices to cloud services. It is an alternative to Kepware for connection primarily Siemens PLCs to Factbird without needing a Windows Server.

Field protocols supported: ProfiBus for old Siemens systems S7, S7-Plus for Siemens PLCs S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, S7-1500, LOGO! OPC UA for PLCs and other equipment w. OPC UA server Modbus TCP for PLCs and other devices

dCloud protocols: MQTT for Factbird HTTP for other systems, not tested w. Factbird API OPC UA for other systems with a OPC UA client

This guide contains configuration instructions for the Factbird Cloud. It does not cover the initial setup nor connecting automation devices like Siemens PLC to CloudConnect 7.

System Setup

A few settings needs to be configured in order for the cloud connection to work.

• Configure DNS. Set valid DNS servers

• Configure NTP time server. Set valid time server and mark as active

• Set Time zone to UTC and turn off Daylight saving time

Adding security certificated to the connection

Factbird will provide Amazon root CA, connection certificate and private key.

Upload the certificates under Certificates
