A role determines what permissions a user has in the system with regard to the availability of functions. A general distinction is made here between reading and writing permissions. A reading permission means that the role can view certain functions and their results, a writing permission would then grant the active use of the respective function.

Blackbird offers four roles by default, which are explained in more detail below. However, each customer can also create new roles and determine their reading and writing permissions themselves.

  1. Super user

Super Users can view and use all functions of the system. They are responsible for the administration of all master data and the configuration of the system on a global or local level.

  1. Read only

Read-only users can only see the main functions of the system and cannot actively use any of them. Typically, a read-only user is only interested in data viewing and respective reporting.

  1. Managers

Managers have the same level of reading and writing permissions as Super Users, except for the administration of the system. Compared to a read-only user, however, they are more familiar with the processes and use of the system on the shop floor and are therefore allowed to make corrections if necessary.

  1. Operator

Operators have very limited writing permissions for the various functions in the system. They only have active access to the functions that are directly related to your work on the shop floor.
